Misra recently reissued Shearwater’s Winged Life - a collaboration between Okkervil River’s Will Sheff and SW mainstay Jonathan Meiburg. Currently, Shearwater is coming to the tail end of a tour with Sharon Van Etten. Shortly after, they will head to the U.K. with Julie Doiron and then back the U.S. with St. Vincent. Oh boy! The Water Liars Album Release Show occurs tonight in St. Louis, MO. Riverfront Times did a wonderful piece on the band which you can read here. Thanks to Kiernan Maletsky, Christian Schaeffer, and the RFT crew for their continued support. It means a great deal. We are happier than Aunt Deb at the Longaberger Basket™ store to announce the official Misra SXSW 2012 Showcase. The event takes place Thursday, March 15 at the widely-loved Frank venue on 4th & Colorado in Austin.

We’re super excited about the Thursday sweet spot and, from what we hear, Frank is a wonderful club — an actual music venue (as opposed to the harrowed frat-bar-turned-music-venue situation you often see at SXSW). Our friends at Merge Records are hosting at Frank the very next night, which is always a good sign.

If you’re down there, make sure to come see us. It’s sure to be a doozy!

Southeast Engine recently played a show at the legendary Canal St. Tavern, in Dayton, OH. The Dayton Informer filmed a video of a very old song — “Where Are You Now?” — and sent it along to us. We hope you enjoy it. See Southeast Engine (SEE) at South By Southwest. The will be playing the Misra Showcase. More details on that very soon.

Tomorrow, The Black Swans head out on a string of dates with R. Ring — a brand new band featuring The Breeders’ Kelley Deal & Ampline’s Mike Montgomery. They’ll be traveling together, burning through the south.

Misra has some exciting news regarding R. Ring soon as well. Both bands will appear at the Misra SXSW Showcase in Austin, TX this year.
