FAQ

Where are you located?

Dayton, Ohio

Can I intern with Misra?

We are always looking for passionate, dedicated interns. Please know the position would be unpaid, however, if you are in college, credit is available. You need not necessarily live near either of the Misra offices in order to intern. Please email grandma@misrarecords.com if you are interested. Thanks so much!

I write for a fanzine, magazine, website, host a radio show, DJ at a college radio station etc. Can I get Misra promos for review/airplay?

We have a very limited supply of promos for radio and press. Please send a copy of your publication and we will consider adding you to the promo list. If you publish online, please send some URLs of your work. If you work for a radio station, please provide us with playlists, URL and some information about your station. Please submit these requests to press@misrarecords.com.

Who distributes your albums?

Misra is distributed exclusively by Bloodshot Records.

Who licenses your music?

Misra is licensed by Terrorbird.

Can I use an MP3 on my podcast/blog?

Any MP3s that we offer as promotional downloads on our site are pre-cleared for podcasting and blogs. Nonetheless, we’d love to know that you’re using them – let us know at press@misrarecords.com.

I need a hi-res photo/album art for publication. Can you send me one?

Hi-res photos are on each artist’s page. Contact press@misrarecords.com if you need further help.

Who the hell is Grandma Misra?

Grandma Misra:

  • raises the middle finger to idolatry.
  • heads to Applebee’s on Tuesdays (lunch shift) to watch the male dancers.
  • never ever sees Celine Dion when she gazes into the stars.
  • while opposed to adulation, Grandma Misra does, however, gaze into the stars to see Bob Dylan, Pere Ubu, Neil Young, The Beatles, Neu!, Aretha Franklin, The Velvet Underground, Peter Ivers, The Band, Nina Simone, Television, Harry Nilsson, Wire, Leonard Cohen, Tim Hardin, The Fall, The Kinks, and others.
  • prefers the aforementioned artists to a lot of this modern indie rock bullshit.
  • loves visiting Washington D.C. where her beloved creators reside.
  • is staunchly independent.
  • wants to resign any pretense of valor and find some way to give in.
  • aims to keep perspective and often reminds herself that even the great Michael Jordan will someday be forgotten.
  • cries during Space Jam.

What the hell is wrong with you? Why the hell do you make up these fictional characters?
