Phosphorescent frontman Matthew Houck is a warmhearted, candid fellow. Houck recently did interviews for Pitchfork and Line of Best Fit in anticipation of his forthcoming Muchacho full-length – out March 19 via the fantastic Dead Oceans imprint. These interviews are two in a long line of recent press, including a spot on NPR’s First Listen and leadoff single “Song for Zula” receiving Best New Track via Pitchfork.
Shortly after the new album’s release, Misra will reissue the label’s Phos title – Aw Come Aw Wry – on Record Store Day 2013 (April 20). It’s a fabulous collection of songs circa 2005. This will be a unique pressing with a slightly updated jacket and a download which includes the full album + rare live recordings of ACAW songs. The pressing was done by the fine folks at Furnace Manufacturing and sounds tremendous. Their work is done with great time and care.
