Motel Beds played ((91.3)) WYSO. It’s one of the finest NPR stations in the country—located in nearby Yellow Springs. The performance was in anticipation of the limited pre-release of “These are the Days Gone By” — 500 hand-painted LPs.

Yes, just in case you missed it, Motel Beds and Misra have teamed up with We Care Arts — a Dayton, Ohio-based non-profit dedicated to “changing disabilities into possibilities.” WCA has hand-painted 500 album covers for Motel Beds’ These are the Days Gone By — a collection of hits, rarities, live favorites, and never-before-heard Beds tracks, all (re)mastered by Carl Saff (Dinosaur Jr, Guided By Voices, etc).

This super limited edition of These are the Days Gone By is truly a special artifact. Once they’re gone, they’re gone… We may end up selling a limited amount online. Right now, we like that they are kind of hard to get… (sorry). Dayton Pre-Release Show details below…

Southeast Engine: KEXP Video + Phenomenal PopMatters Piece + Alison Vagnini Photos + More!

Posted at 1:58 pm

Great Praise continues to roll in for Southeast Engine, including a phenomenal piece by Andrew Gilstrap of PopMatters called “Fear and Hope in the Great Depression,” as well as a beautiful acoustic video of “Ruthie” (off SEE’s Canary). The video was filmed live at Pickathon by the kindhearted badasses of KEXP in Seattle and The PopMatters article addresses the themes of both Canary (2011) and its companion EP Canaanville (2012).

In addition, the band had some wonderful new photos taken by the wildly talented Alison Vagnini while they were touring through Denver, CO on their way to Pickathon 2012. The first is up there for all to see.

Southeast Engine’s new Canaanville EP is seeing some great praise. A small smattering can be seen below. Too, we’re running some special deals on the album here.

Southeast Engine Plugged – Sassy Live Video

Some nice early mentions from Hear Ya, Donewaiting, and Ghettoblaster on Southeast Engine’s Canaanville EP – out July 31 (same day as The Black Swans’ Occasion for Song).

To note: Misra never made that quote in the Hear Ya piece, though it is humorous. Canaanville is a 4-song appendix EP designed to accompany Canary (2011). It’s being sold as a T-Shirt Album here.

Here is a live video Sarah Laubacher took at the band’s recent Cincinnati show at MOTR. Fun!
