Holopaw head down to Miami, FL to play a show this Saturday… but it’s not just any show. Roger Beebe will provide 16mm visuals during their set. “The Congress of Beauty”: 8 songs + 5 16mm projectors. This is a Grade A treat.
Thanks to Jose Duran, Liz Tracy and the wonderful folks at both Miami and Broward/Palm Beach New Times for great features on Paw. Holopaw frontman John Orth is a wildly talented and productive man. In past days he pulled double-duty playing alongside Modest Mouse’s Isaace Brock as Ugly Casanova. These days the binary heads toward visual art (see image above).
Orth has partnered with Cinders Gallery in Willamsburg to open F.L.A.Gallery in Gainesville. The inaugural show, Rewilding, F.L.A., features John’s work and that of Kelie Bowman and Serra Victoria Bothwell Fels. Like them on Facebook. Check out John’s tumblr site.
>> Pre-order Paw’s “Golden Sparklers” b/w “Yearling’s Darlings” 7″ (11/13) and Academy Songs, Volume I (1/13). Thanks so much for supporting independent music and art!
