Phosphorescent frontman Matthew Houck has been touring the world, playing late night TV, and selling thousands of records. It’s a wildly exciting time for Phossy.
Along with a full download of the album, Houck and Misra decided to include live recordings with Phos’ Record Store Day reissue download of Aw Come Aw Wry. This was before things started to become insanely busy for the band (he’s opening for Robert Plant… Oh, Holy Night!)
Phos’ full album is included with the download card on the RSD reissue, however, understandably, Matthew had a hard time gathering the live recordings and wasn’t able to get them in on time. In addition, he’s reassembling his studio and says “he hasn’t forgotten.” So, they’ll be here. Thanks for your understanding, your patience and your support of both Phos and Misra. We can’t do this without you.
Thank you so much for supporting independent music! We can’t do this without you.
As it is, Matthew Houck — the wonderful & talented frontman for Phosphorescent — got caught up in the band’s recent swarm of road dates and was unable to get the special live recordings to Misra in time for Record Store Day. The live recordings were going to be on the download card alongside a full-download of the album. We are truly sorry about the setback and both Matthew and Misra plan to remedy the situation. Please check back soon.
Again, we are very sorry about this situation and working on a remedy now. Thanks so much for your support of Phossy and Misra! It means so much to us all.
Congratulations to The Black Swans on their 2x LP, 180 gram, double gatefold Occasion for Song Record Store Day release. We should have mentioned this on RSD, however, it’s been a wildly hectic time here in Dayton as we attempt to rally behind one of the city’s at-risk historic structures.
Anyway, it’s so exciting to see O4S on vinyl! Above is a picture of the release. There *may* still be one left at your local record store. Only 500 were pressed, so you better act fast.
Pitchfork Gives Phosphorescent 8.8 “Best New Music” Rating • Misra Reissuing Phos Title for Record Store Day 2013
Phosphorescent received an 8.8 “Best New Music” rating via Pitchfork for their phenomenal new Muchacho LP today – out 3/19 via the fantastic Dead Oceans imprint. This is great news.
Misra is reissuing the label’s Phos title – Aw Come Aw Wry – on Record Store Day 2013 (April 20). It’s a fabulous collection of songs circa 2005. This will be a unique pressing with a slightly updated jacket and a download which includes the full album + rare live recordings of ACAW songs. The pressing was done by the fine folks at Furnace Manufacturing and sounds tremendous. Furnace’s work is done with great time and care.
