Mobius band
Named after the geometrical term for a non-orientable surface that cannot be embedded in a plane, Mobius Band's music is similarly hard to place, lying somewhere between bittersweet indie rock, electronic pop, and alt-country leanings. The band, which featured Peter Sax, Noam Schatz, and Ben Sterling, spent its early years in Shutesberry, Massachusetts. After self-releasing the EPs One, Two, and Three, Mobius Band signed to Ghostly International.
Working with producer Peter Katis in New York on new material, the aptly named City vs Country EP (released in 2005) found the group moving in a more poppy, streamlined direction, a trend continued on 2007's Heaven, which was released on Misra Records.
Mobius Band broke up in 2010.
